There are no plans to rebrand the Zomato app as Eternal: Deepinder Goyal

Zomato’s rebranding as Eternal is an internal exercise that will have no impact on anyone’s roles or duties. There are no plans to change the company’s name. Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal commented. “We didn’t want the Blinkit crew to feel like a stepchild once the purchase was done. We needed to ensure that Zomato and Blinkit were treated equally in the significance hierarchy of our daily work lives.

In the public declaration, he stated that the word “eternal” is a mission statement in and of itself. Eternal refers to something that will last more than a lifetime. We want each of our enterprises to be established with a long-term perspective, even beyond our lives. “We didn’t want the Blinkit crew to feel like a stepchild once the purchase was closed.” We needed to ensure that Zomato and Blinkit were both ranked equally in the importance hierarchy of our everyday work lives. He also stated that the internal reorganization was not intended to be interpreted as a succession plan.

Zomato

“NO is the plain and simple response.” I’m as excited as I’ve ever been about continuing to grow Zomato. Zomato, I believe, is my life’s work, and the most challenging (and gratifying) part of the journey is yet to come. He continued, “This announcement has no bearing on anyone’s job or obligations at Zomato, including mine.”

According to the sources, the organization planned to consolidate all of its operations into Eternal, which would function as Zomato’s parent company and would be led by several CEOs. After reports of its “Eternal” reorganization plan appeared, capital markets regulator the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) ordered Zomato to disclose additional information. Zomato’s shares fell 4.4% to Rs 59.15 on the BSE today, tracking losses in the Indian and foreign financial markets.
