Byju’s Appoints Jiny Thattil as Chief Technology Officer (CTO)


Byju’s, the prominent edtech firm, announced on Monday the elevation of Jiny Thattil to the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Thattil, previously serving as the senior vice president for engineering, takes the reins from Anil Goel, who departs the company after a commendable three-year tenure as CTO.

Arjun Mohan, CEO of Byju’s India, expressed enthusiasm about Thattil’s promotion, stating, “We are delighted to promote Jiny Thattil as the CTO of Byju’s. His extensive experience and leadership skills make him the ideal candidate for this crucial role as we continue to rebuild for greater efficiency and sustainability.” Mohan also extended gratitude to Anil Goel, acknowledging his exemplary contributions to the company.

The transition in leadership is a strategic move as part of Byju’s ongoing efforts in restructuring and reorienting its leadership team. The objective is to enhance operational efficiency, aligning with the company’s vision for sustained growth.

Jiny Thattil brings to the role more than 25 years of rich experience spanning diverse domains, including e-commerce, advertising, analytics, payments, online banking, personal finance, business intelligence, healthcare, and transportation. His versatile background positions him well to lead Byju’s technology initiatives.

The company highlighted Thattil’s significant contributions, noting his involvement in the post-acquisition integration of various subsidiaries of Byju’s. His professional journey includes notable stints with well-established companies such as Happay, Amazon, InMobi, GE Healthcare, among others.

Byju’s emphasizes that this leadership transition aligns with its commitment to fortify the organization for sustained success. Thattil’s appointment reflects Byju’s strategic focus on harnessing seasoned leadership to navigate the evolving landscape of the education technology sector.
