The Maharashtra government has partnered with Khan Academy to make math learning in Marathi possible

The Maharashtra government’s School Education and Sports Department has teamed with Khan Academy India to improve math learning outcomes for children in grades 1 through 10 in Maharashtra’s government institutions. This collaboration will provide children with high-quality math learning content in Marathi, allowing them to learn in their native tongue.

The first phase of the implementation would provide new math content and enhanced internet resources to 488 model schools in Maharashtra. All teachers in these public schools will be trained to use online teaching tools and provide individualized learning experiences based on individual students’ progress data.

Since 2021, the Maharashtra government and Khan Academy India have collaborated to reproduce Khan Academy’s math content in Marathi, which will be available on the SCERT Maharashtra website as well as Khan Academy. Students will be able to develop a solid grasp of Math at their own speed, on any device, and for free. Teachers will also have access to the essential internet tools and real-time data to identify and solve learning gaps in the classroom and individually.
