In the next two years, Shadowfax plans to convert 75 per cent of its fleet to electric vehicles

As part of its long-term growth ambitions, Shadowfax Technologies, a crowdsourcing platform for last-mile deliveries, stated on Monday that it plans to have 75% of its fleet in electric cars by 2024 and full electrification by 2026. With the zero pollution campaign, this adoption of EVs is part of a global drive to make logistics more sustainable.

Shadowfax stated in a statement that by launching this effort, it hopes to alter the sector and adopt a proactive method to cut carbon emissions, bringing a new approach to the last-mile logistics arena that is environmentally beneficial.

According to the statement, the commercial EV industry is increasing, with several factors like vehicle availability, corporate net-zero responsibility, and carbon pricing giving a further push for a large expansion of electrification of last-mile delivery fleets in India.

Despite its numerous benefits, the electric vehicle (EV) industry still confronts a number of obstacles, including limited financial institution assistance in the form of EV loans, a still-developing charging infrastructure, and a scarcity of reliable, cost-effective original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

With 30% daily active users of its over one-lakh strong crowdsourcing platform employing cycles, EVs, and other eco-friendly methods, it is dominating the two-wheeler market adoption of zero-carbon emission ways of last-mile, according to the firm.

Shadowfax is also a participant in the NITI Aayog’s ‘Shoonya- Zero Pollution Mobility’ initiative, according to Abhishek Bansal, which is constantly advancing the EV agenda.

On a single platform, the on-demand tech-enabled instant logistics B2B2C platform serves numerous end-customer categories, including food and grocery delivery, rapid commerce, multi-city e-commerce fulfilment, and reverse logistics.

Shadowfax services over 170 business clients across over 700 locations, delivering over one million orders per day, according to the statement, with a growing network of over one lakh rider partners.
