Toyota cars in India to cost more from October 1
- ByManjeet Singh | September 29, 2021
In a Tuesday announcement, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said its cars will cost more from October 1, 2021. This price hike comes after the automaker had announced a price hike at the end of August this year. This price hike is reportedly justified by the increasing input costs, according to the Japanese car brand.
As of yet, TKM has not stated what percentage the price hike will be. Rates for different models will differ, as will types. In the upcoming month, all authorized dealers will have updated variant-specific prices available. Dealers will be notified shortly, after which the new pricing will take effect.
With inflation, auto component and commodity prices continue to rise. In addition, manufacturers must also pay various freight charges. Therefore, car prices are only likely to increase next month. Innova Crysta prices increased by two percent last month, while the Yaris was discontinued. As a result of these cost increases, TKM has been forced to revise prices. Hopefully, the cars will still continue to provide good value on the Indian market
