‘Think before you let it drip’ | Learn how this startup is committed towards preserving water and preserving life

Suman Dahiya in an exclusive interview with Startup Story shares how her company AquaSave is aiming to spread awareness in the society to save, reuse and revitalise water by sharing innovative ideas and manufacturing and assembling various fittings and products that will help the environment to save water.

Know the Company

Suman Dahiya highlights that for every 1 litre of water filtered in RO , 3 litres of water is thrown in the drain. In a family of 5 members about 25-40 litres of RO water is consumed which means 75-120 litres of water gets wasted in a day and that figure goes to 2250-3600 litres of water wasted every month.

Suman mentions that the use of water purifiers has become an essential practice in most urban households in India. However, the water that is rejected and disposed of during the purification process is often overlooked. This wastage of water from RO systems contributes significantly to the water crisis, and its mismanagement is unreasonable.

Experts estimate that if this discarded water were collected from every household in an average city, it could easily fill a lake every year for that city, she added.

Therefore, it is crucial to save and reuse this water, and AquaSave, a revolutionary company, aims to do just that. They are spreading awareness in society about water conservation and revitalization through innovative products such as “The AquaSave water storage and distribution tank.”

AquaSave helps to store this water so that it can be utilised for other household services such as Dish Washing, Car Washing, Gardening, Floor Cleaning and use in washrooms.

Suman points out that AquaSave RR is a product that has been innovatively designed to aid in water conservation efforts.

She said, throughout its development, they have taken into consideration numerous factors that are beneficial for households across our country. It is effortless to install, can be mounted on a wall, and requires no maintenance, making it an ideal solution for reducing water wastage.

She wants all her customers to use RO “guilt-free” and also contribute their little to water conservation.

Drive to do something different

Suman mentions that her journey to build this product started from a rough drawing which she made to solve the water wastage problem of her kitchen. But when she realised that this is every household problem and no company or product is there in the market which can solve the problem of water draining from ROs.

That was the time when Suman experienced the moment of epiphany and started to build the AquaSave. The initial idea was to build for her own kitchen, but Suman’s inner voice to do something for herself , started her journey in becoming a successful entrepreneur and building her own company.

Suman said, apart from doing something for herself, she wanted to do something for society and she chose water conservation, because water is a natural resource which cannot be produced, thus with growing population and rising demand, the need to preserve water quadruples.

Surviving covid times

Suman launched her company in 2019, and immediately after some time pandemic hit. But Suman mentioned that she remained optimistic and in fact her sales surged during Covid.

During Covid Suman focussed on expanding her business in online spaces and now she proudly says that her product is available on Amazon.

She mentions that happy customers from all over the place reach out to her to share user-experience and tell how glad they are that a product like their’s launched in the market which has solved their perpetual problem from years.

Suman said she will expand her water conservation setup in ACs, Ambulances and Toilets as well. Their company is looking forward to increasing the capacity of AquaSave from 15L to 30L.

Moreover the rectangular shape of AquaSave, which is the USP of her product, has plans to continue that. In addition Suman will focus on expanding distribution channels so that her product can reach her customers quickly.

Suman says that her prime motto is customer satisfaction and will continue to serve her happy customers on online and offline platforms.
