Bengaluru-based space-tech startup GalaxEye is set to launch ‘Mission Drishti’ in the first quarter of 2026, marking the debut of the world’s first multi-sensor Earth observation (EO) satellite. This mission signifies a major milestone for India’s private space sector and aims to revolutionize geospatial intelligence by integrating multiple sensing technologies into a single platform.
Mission Drishti: A Technological Breakthrough
Weighing 160 kg, Mission Drishti is India’s largest privately built satellite and boasts the highest-resolution imaging capability developed domestically. The satellite will carry both Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and high-resolution optical payloads, enabling continuous Earth observation under all weather conditions and at any time of day or night. This dual-sensor approach allows for comprehensive data collection, providing unprecedented geospatial intelligence for various applications.
