PhysicsWallah and Utkarsh Classes Partner to Form Edtech Joint Venture

Physics Wallah and Utkarsh Classes have joined forces to establish a joint venture that will offer academic training and course offerings in various categories to students. Through the partnership, the two edtech companies aim to utilize their core competencies to provide value-added education across all exams and venture into new exam categories. This collaboration is expected to enhance the quality of education and create more opportunities for students seeking to excel in their academic pursuits.

According to Alakh Pandey, the Founder and CEO of PhysicsWallah, the joint venture between Physics Wallah and Utkarsh Classes is driven by their shared vision of offering affordable and result-oriented quality education to all students in India. This collaboration will enable the two edtech companies to enhance the learning experience of students across the country. The announcement of this joint venture comes at a time when edtech players are shifting their focus to hybrid learning models following a decline in demand due to the reopening of schools and colleges in a phased manner.

As an offline education provider for more than two decades, Utkarsh Classes will support Physics Wallah in improving its offline operations and creating a strong hybrid learning model. The collaboration will involve Utkarsh Classes expanding its government test preparation offerings and opening offline centres in 32 cities across India, where Physics Wallah has already established its own offline centres. This partnership is expected to bolster the capabilities of both edtech companies and provide students with a more comprehensive and flexible learning experience.

Last year, PhysicsWallah expanded into the offline space by launching PW Vidyapeeth. The edtech unicorn intends to increase its reach by establishing additional Vidyapeeths and scaling up in all-India competitive exam categories. With the shift towards hybrid learning, edtech companies are expected to rely more heavily on technology. 

To this end, PhysicsWallah plans to utilize its technology team to help develop the delivery mechanism for study materials for Utkarsh Classes, which is headquartered in Jodhpur. This collaboration is expected to facilitate the adoption of innovative teaching methods and provide students with a more seamless and effective learning experience.
