Gruner Renewable Energy Secures ₹1500 Crore Worth of Projects for Compressed Biogas Plants

Gruner Renewable Energy, India’s leading renewable energy company, has recently clinched multiple projects totaling ₹1,500 crores for the establishment of Compressed Biogas (CBG) Plants nationwide, marking a significant milestone within its inaugural year of operation. This strategic endeavor underscores the firm’s steadfast commitment to propelling growth and innovation in the renewable energy sector while substantially contributing to India’s sustainable development objectives.

In a notable feat, Gruner has successfully secured 11 projects valued at ₹1,100 crores from one of India’s premier business conglomerates, in addition to 19 projects worth ₹400 crores from prominent individual business leaders. The company is set to embark on the development of compressed biogas (CBG) plants across various strategic locations, collectively poised to yield an annual production capacity exceeding 88,000 tons of compressed biogas for the Indian market. These projects are strategically positioned in key cities such as Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh), Satna (Madhya Pradesh), Balasore (Orissa), Navsari (Gujarat), Yavatmal (Maharashtra), Vijayawada, and Rajahmundry (Andhra Pradesh), among others.

To ensure the seamless execution and operation of these projects, Gruner will augment its workforce by approximately 900 professionals and skilled laborers, bringing its total headcount to 2,500 employees, including site workers, by the next quarter. These resources will be deployed across various operational sites, including the corporate headquarters situated in NOIDA, NCR.

Utkarsh Gupta, Founder & CEO of Gruner Renewable Energy, reiterated the company’s unwavering commitment to combating climate change and fostering economic growth through sustainable solutions, stating, “Currently, India satisfies about 85% of its crude oil demands through imports. However, there is a gradual effort underway to expand biofuel production capacity within the country. By leveraging our current orders in hand, we aim to reduce India’s overall expenditure on crude oil imports by INR 8 billion. Furthermore, our efforts aim to benefit farmers and generate employment in the energy industry, fostering awareness and development. We aspire to play a pivotal role in India’s commitment to becoming a net-zero economy by 2070 through renewable energy.”

Having commenced operations in February 2023, Gruner presently manages a robust portfolio comprising 30 ongoing projects nationwide. With a forward-looking approach, the company is poised to escalate its project count to 100, targeting a new order value of INR 5,000 crores by the conclusion of the current financial year.
