Foxconn’s Fii Plans Rs 8,800-crore Investment in Karnataka for Supplementary Plant


Foxconn Industrial Internet (Fii), a subsidiary of iPhone maker Foxconn, is keen to invest Rs 8,800 crore in Karnataka, potentially creating 14,000 job opportunities. The proposal involves establishing a supplementary plant in the Devanahalli ITIR region, focused on manufacturing screens, outer coverings, and mechanical components for iPhones. The company representatives met with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Industries Minister MB Patil to discuss the project.

The proposed project requires approximately 100 acres of land, and the company delegates visited the Japanese Industrial Township in Tumakuru to assess the land.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah highlighted the state’s supportive ecosystem for industrial growth and emphasized the coordination between academia and industries. He assured the Fii team of the government’s commitment to facilitate the availability of skilled human resources for the project.

Industries Minister MB Patil expressed the government’s full cooperation for the proposed projects and mentioned the possibility of considering other proposals from the company, such as establishing a semiconductor manufacturing unit.

The meeting, chaired by the Chief Minister and attended by IT/BT Minister Priyank Kharge and Chief Secretary Vandita Sharma, took place at Vidhana Soudha and included various Fii delegates and government officials.
