Clueso Secures $1.4M Seed Funding to Transform Training Video Creation

Clueso, a promising startup focused on revolutionizing the creation of training videos and visual documentation, has announced the successful closure of its $1.4 million seed funding round. The investment was led by f7 Ventures, with notable participation from Y Combinator.

The startup’s mission is to streamline the process of producing studio-quality explainer videos and instructional content for customer education and employee training, using cutting-edge AI technology. Clueso’s AI-powered platform converts simple screen recordings into engaging videos and step-by-step articles with embedded screenshots and GIFs.

The journey of Clueso founders—Prajwal, Neel, and their team—has been marked by persistence and a willingness to adapt. Their initial venture, Desklamp, designed to aid students and academic researchers with note-taking on PDF documents, garnered a substantial user base but ultimately faced market challenges. The pivotal moment came during their participation in Y Combinator, where they made the bold decision to pivot away from Desklamp towards Clueso.

Michael Seibel, group partner at Y Combinator, advised the founders to tackle a problem they had encountered at Desklamp, which led to the genesis of Clueso. The team identified a significant need for efficient video creation tools after observing the impact of demo videos on feature adoption and user engagement.

Clueso’s innovation promises to disrupt the training and education sector. Prajwal, co-founder of Clueso, explains their vision: “Clueso automates a lot of this work. Today, our customers have cut the time it takes to generate training videos and documentation by over 80%, and improved the quality of their materials by 10x.”
