PV Sindhu Wins Bronze In Tokyo 2020 Olympics


India’s ace shuttler, PV Sindhu wins bronze in Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The only female sports person and second Indian to win back to back medals in Olympics. In Rio 2016, she came back with a Silver. Obviously, the3 expectation was a Gold from her, and when she disqualified from Semis on Saturday, it was nothing but sheer heart break for Indians, but Sindhu heard up focussing on the last match that will fetch her Bronze, and she will go down in history. On Sunday, she had as her opponent, world no.9 He Bing Jiao of China. Her confidence was visible from the very beginning as she continued to hurl back confident smashes, and with one final return, she did it ! She broughty India a medal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Sindhu as “one of our most outstanding Olympian.” We are all elated by the stellar performance by @Pvsindhu1.Congratulations to her on winning the Bronze at @Tokyo2020. She is India’s pride and one of our most outstanding Olympians.” tweeted modi.  President Ramnath Kovind tweeted , “ P V Sindhu becomes the first Indian woman to win medals in two Olympic games. She has set a new yardstick of consistency, dedication and excellence. My heartiest congratulations to her for bringing glory to India.” Congratulations poured in from all over the country, with every sports personality dropping in to congratulate the Power Woman. And, the interesting fact is that, considering Tokyo 2020 Olympics, this is the third straight Olympics where India has won a medal in Women’s Singles’ Badminton, starting with a Bronze from Saina Nehwal, in 2012, to a Silver from Sindhu in 2016, and finally a bronze from Sindhu again, in 2020.
