Suhail Sameer, the chief executive of BharatPe, is leaving the company, according to a person familiar with the situation. Sameer has been leading the troubled fintech company since co-founder Ashneer Grover was fired amid allegations of financial misconduct. The company is preparing for a change in leadership, and an announcement will probably be made in this respect later this month.
Vijay Aggarwal, the chief technology officer, Nehul Jain, the president of PostPe, and Rajat Jain, the chief product officer (lending and consumer products), all left their positions in December. Nishit Sharma, the chief revenue officer, and Satyam Nathani, another founder member, left the business in June 2022.
Bhavik Koladiya, who oversaw the business’s technology and product divisions, also resigned in June.
Since Ashneer Grover was fired from the company for financial embezzlement, Sameer has been in charge of it. He has been the target of personal insults from Grover in recent weeks. Grover has shared several derogatory tweets about his former coworkers in response to the accusations.
According to sources quoted by Mint, the business has been looking for a new CEO and is eager to succeed Sameer. In August 2020, he was appointed president of the business. He was selected to lead the company as CEO in August 2021.
However, BharatPe has refuted the news. Company spokesperson said, “Suhail continues to be the CEO of BharatPe, and we would not like to further comment on any market speculation.”
