Drone Startup SUIND Raises Rs 20.5 Crore in Seed Round Led by Transition VC

Agriculture drone startup SUIND has raised Rs 20.5 crore (around $2.2 million) in a seed funding round led by Transition Venture Capital Fund, with participation from IIMA Ventures and CIIE Initiatives. Of the total, Transition is putting in Rs 20 crore while CIIE Initiatives is contributing Rs 50 lakh. The round values SUIND at approximately Rs 80 crore on a post-money basis.
Founded in 2020 by Kunal Shrivastava and Kevin Kleber, SUIND builds autonomous unmanned aerial systems that rely on computer vision rather than GPS for navigation. This lets its drones operate in low-altitude, near-terrain, and GPS-denied environments where conventional drones typically struggle a capability that could matter a lot for agriculture, surveillance, and infrastructure inspection use cases.
The company has already commercially deployed its DGCA-certified autonomous spraying drone, Bumblebee, across farms and plantations. With the fresh capital, SUIND plans to scale Bumblebee’s deployment, accelerate development of its autonomous surveillance and infrastructure inspection drone (referred to in some reports as WASP), strengthen its proprietary autonomy technology, and expand its engineering team. The company has also said it intends to extend its drone technology beyond agriculture into industrial applications over the next 12 to 24 months.
This round comes nearly two-and-a-half years after SUIND’s previous seed round in November 2023, when it raised Rs 5 crore led by Sunicon Ventures, with participation from Zetta Farms and a group of angel investors.
Following the new allotment, Transition Venture Capital Fund becomes SUIND’s largest external shareholder with a 25% stake. Co-founders Kunal Shrivastava and Kevin Kleber will each continue to hold 25.08% of the company, while Sunicon Ventures and CIIE Initiatives hold 9.22% and 0.62%, respectively.
SUIND is yet to file its financial statements for FY26. According to its most recent available filings, the company remains pre-revenue and reported a loss of Rs 1.89 crore in FY25.
The funding lands amid growing investor interest in India’s drone technology ecosystem. Listed drone maker ideaForge recently raised Rs 500 crore through a qualified institutional placement, while drone startup EndureAir received Rs 30 crore in grant support under the government’s RDIF scheme in May.
