Unacademy to help female students prepare for NDA exam, signs MoU with Tripura Government
Unacademy, edtech unicorn, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Tripura to provide support to meritorious female students in their preparation for the National Defense Academy entrance examination.
The Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (run by the state’s Dept. of Education), in collaboration with Unacademy, will be conducting two aptitude tests over the course of the next 12 months. 125 female students from each exam will be chosen for the programme. The 250 students will be given a year’s worth of Unacademy Plus subscriptions for free to aid their preparation.
Ratan Lal Nath, Education Minister of Tripura spoke on the occasion and stated, “At the start of the holy Navratri, we see this collaboration with Unacademy as true service to girl students. The State of Tripura will produce more women warriors who would serve this nation, and access to quality content would be at the centre of this defence coaching programme.”
In lieu of the Central Government’s recent decision to allow women access to the tutelage of the NDA several decades after the institution was founded, This collaboration falls perfectly in-line with the startup’s aim to democratise access to high-quality education. Unacademy was founded in 2015 by Gaurav Munjal, Hemesh Singh, and Roman Saini. Today, it boasts a network of over 6,000 registered educators and more than 62 million learners.
