WhatsApp, Facebook-owned messaging giant has started testing a feature called Group Icon Editor that allows users to set emoji and stickers as their group images. This feature is currently available for iOS beta testers and will soon roll out for iOS and Android users in the coming weeks.
According to a report, the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS comes with a group icon editor that lets users instantly set a new image for a group. Users can choose two options – using a background color with either an emoji or a sticker for the group image. Users can choose any one of these and it should automatically set the group image.
The “Emoji and Sticker” option will be available on the menu that lets users update the group image. By tapping on this option, you will see a new page that shows two tabs with Emoji and Sticker written on them. Users can select the preferred tab that will lead to a page of several emojis/stickers to choose from depending on your choice. After choosing a background, they will see a circular preview of the new group image. They can then tap Done, to set it as the group image.
Recently, the Facebook-owned platform also launched features like multi-device linking, which allowed users to use WhatsApp on multiple devices including WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop platforms. In addition to this, the company also launched an image editing feature for WhatsApp Web and a disappearing messages feature for mobile users.
