Vedanta Appoints Sonal Shrivastava as Chief Financial Officer

Vedanta, the global mining major, has announced the appointment of Sonal Shrivastava as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with effect from June 1, 2023. In a statement, Vedanta highlighted Shrivastava’s extensive financial leadership experience spanning over 26 years across various sectors. She holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from BIT, Sindri, and an MBA from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.

Prior to joining Vedanta, Shrivastava served as the CFO for Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa operations at Holcim Group. Her global experience and a successful track record of delivering robust financial outcomes across sectors make her a valuable addition to Vedanta, according to Anil Agarwal, Chairman of Vedanta. Agarwal expressed confidence in Shrivastava’s ability to play a vital role in shaping the company’s future.

As the CFO of Vedanta, Shrivastava will lead the group’s financial strategy and assume responsibility for accounting, tax, treasury, investor relations, financial planning and analytics. She will also drive digitalization initiatives and focus on enhancing profitability.
