Utsav App Raises INR 2 Crore in Seed Funding to Expand its Faith-based Marketplace

Utsav App, a community-led marketplace for faith and divinity, has successfully raised INR 2 crore in a recent seed funding round led by India Quotient. The funds raised will be utilized to forge partnerships with more religious organizations and expand operations to multiple geographies.

Previously, Utsav App secured its first round of funding as part of 100X.VC’s Class 06 portfolio in December 2021. The app has also received support from angel investors including Divyanshu Tambe, Founder of agri-tech startup Mera Pashu 360, and Vikrant Gandhi.

Founded in 2021 by college friends Sourajit Basu, Ankita De, and Prajata Samanta during their final year of engineering, Utsav App initially focused on digitizing Kolkata’s renowned Durga Puja. Since then, the platform has experienced significant growth and currently collaborates with over 30 auspicious religious organizations across India. Utsav App provides these organizations and their devotees with a digital platform to share information, make online puja bookings, and even facilitate home delivery of prasad (offering). Its aim is to engage the vast religious audience in India and create a comprehensive online ecosystem surrounding faith-based activities.

Sourajit Basu, Co-Founder and CEO of Utsav App, expressed his gratitude, stating, “We feel blessed to have been able to serve tens of thousands of devotees so far. Our aim is to substantially improve our user experience, as well as scale up our operations in the times to come. Every step we take is aligned with our objective of effectively catering to growing customer demand and serving them better.”
