Siddaganga Incubation Foundation is a section 8 non-profit entity located at Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumakuru, Karnataka.  It focuses on supporting innovations in the areas of Agritech and allied areas, Social impact and grass root innovations to nurture startup culture and to address challenges in rural India. SIF is recognised by NSTEDB, Department of Science & Technology, Startup India Seed Fund Scheme, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Gov of India. 

In the tranquil environs of Gattu village in Madanapalle, Andhra Pradesh, a groundbreaking initiative is taking shape. AEDAA Equipments, founded in 2022 by Durgaprasad Thota and Murali Thota, is setting a new standard in the agricultural sector. Supported and incubated at the Siddaganga Incubation Foundation, Tumakuru, this venture aims to revolutionize farming with its innovative technology and artificial intelligence solutions.

Durgaprasad Thota’s journey into the world of agritech began amidst the global pandemic. While studying for his GATE exams, he explored practical applications of his theoretical knowledge. Witnessing firsthand the challenges faced on his family farm, especially with motor operations, he was inspired to develop solutions that reduce maintenance costs and support modern farming practices. This spark of innovation led to the inception of AEDAA Equipments.

With a clear vision, AEDAA Equipments aims to empower farmers by enhancing water management, automating fertilization, simplifying motor maintenance, predicting pests, and providing actionable insights, all accessible from the farmer’s smartphone. The startup’s flagship product, the Farm Assistant Model, allows farmers to manage their operations remotely, combining irrigation automation with disease and pest prediction capabilities.

The core team at AEDAA Equipments is a blend of expertise in electronics design, firmware development, and agricultural and horticultural knowledge. Each member plays a crucial role in product development, data analysis, marketing, and on-ground implementation.

AEDAA Equipments debuted by launching its first product directly on model farms. Leveraging online marketing and direct engagement with farmers, the startup quickly saw positive responses and word-of-mouth recommendations, paving the way for its growth in the agricultural community.

Competing in a field with established players like Fasal and Cropin, AEDAA Equipments distinguishes itself with competitive pricing and a unique integrated solution tailored for the Indian agricultural sector. Looking ahead, the startup plans to enhance its predictive capabilities and optimize irrigation techniques for various crops. It also aims to introduce additional solutions such as pest control devices to cater to broader agricultural needs.

AEDAA Equipment has not only received a grant of Rs. 5 lakh under the NIDHI – iTBI Ignition grant by the Department of Science & Technology,  but also looks forward to exploring further funding opportunities after achieving  some traction in the market. This strategy will ensure sustainable growth and continued innovation in its products. The founder also appreciates the learnings, mentoring support and guidance provided by the Siddaganga Foundation.

Durgaprasad Thota advises other entrepreneurs to focus on creating revenue-generating products to sustain business operations and invest iteratively based on market insights. This approach has helped AEDAA Equipments navigate the early stages of startup challenges successfully.
