An Established Entrepreneur, Gaurav Vinod Dubey Known To Solve Impossible Cases, Runs A Successful Law Consulting Firm.

Gaurav, a self-taught entrepreneur, dropped out of college and allowed experience to be his teacher. He has also been bestowed with Power broker of the year award 2019 by skill Indian awards.

The Founder’s Journey

When asked by Startup story to unravel his journey for us, Gaurav told us that he started his journey in the year 2016, since then he has been a power broker, has ventured into trading of candles and run a successful law consultancy firm. Going down memory lane he told us that the first realization of becoming an entrepreneur came to him while he was working as a sales consultant in a car showroom, where he also met his mentor. Gaurav told us that when his mentor introduced him to his first big client and he closed a massive deal, he recognized the potential that he carried inside him. He believed that if he could help someone else build a business and get promoted to senior sales consultant within a month’s time, confidence swelled up inside him to ‘create something of his own’, which is what he had initially thought of doing.

He set out to establish his own law consultancy firm in the year 2017, which is based in Mumbai but has also penetrated into other states including Delhi, Bangalore, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh etc.

Inspiration Behind The Name, VAD Lawgical and Services

When asked about the name of his company VAD Lawgical, Gaurav told us that the name was an abbreviation for his father’s name, Vinod Anand. Further, he told us about the various services that they offer at the law and consultancy firm including property litigation, criminal cases, land encroachment, mergers and acquisitions, consultancy etc.

From Freelancing To Building A Team

Gaurav told Startup Story that initially he started the firm on his own, he educated himself and read books to increase his knowledge and started with freelancing and taking the cases on his own. Later, when the numbers of incoming cases began to increase and he started creating steady revenue he began to add more members to his team. Currently he has a team of 25 lawyers, who are experts in one or other areas, for instance, mergers, criminal law, drafting, banking etc. “ Although I do not officially carry a lawyer’s degree, people know me as one” Gaurav said as he has been heading his team and handling every case.

Customer Experience 

“We are known to make the impossible possible,” Gaurav said, talking about his work with customers. As for finding and retaining clients, he said having a firm network helped him go a long way. Also every time they receive a case it is an opportunity packed as a gift for them that helps them improve and increase their network. Overall, they have enjoyed a high class clientele with excellent response. He also added that he does not believe in taking cases that he might be only half aware about and so he considers it mandatory to educate oneself and learn before going for a case.

Future Plans And Funding

Gaurav runs three ventures at the same time, he was into trading candles and then stepped into law consultancy .Further, he has now set up convenience stores named MarQt  India, the neighborhood store, his business markets products including frozen foods, imported assorted chocolates, dry fruits etc.  As for raising funds Gaurav told Startup Story that he does not believe in raising funding or going for a loan but to build and sustain everything on his own. His firm is bootstrapped and even though he has received several offers he doesn’t wish to engage in raising any funds yet. Also, he said that earlier on in the initial stage of his business when he was looking for funds he did not get any fruitful results and so he has been following his ideology to stay self-funded.

Setbacks And Dealing With Everyday Stress

“If you have a dream that you are looking to achieve, go for it”, Gaurav  Vinod Dubey, Founder, VAD Lawgical. Gaurav said that dropping out of college dismantled him, it was a testing period and he did not have any supporters but he was confident and that was what fuelled him through his journey. Looking back he doesn’t even realize how the years flew by.

As for stress management, Gaurav is of  the view that, being an entrepreneur one should avoid being ‘greedy’, he has his own limitations set and believes in the ‘get in, get rich, get out’ philosophy.
