A Balancing Act: This CA and entrepreneur is a one stop-solution to job seekers and startups

“The most challenging hurdle faced after starting a startup is income tax,” said House of Jobs
founder and CA Sharad Kumar Sharma in an exclusive interview with Startup Story.

The COVID-19 pandemic has, in several different ways, completely transformed the status quo
that existed pre-pandemic. On the plus side, the current startup ecosystem is booming. More
and more people are realising that they want to become entrepreneurs. One thing they probably
do not account for is the gruelling work of sorting out the company’s legalities. On the other
hand, unemployment rates have shot up. More and more people are searching for jobs to attain
or maintain financial stability.

CA Sharad Kumar Sharma wants to help startups and job seekers alike with his companies KSVG & Associates and The House of Jobs.

A one-stop solution

The Indian startup ecosystem has been witnessing staggering growth over the course of
2021- and while the founding of new startups brings the prospect of unparalleled
innovation, the legalities associated with registering and running a company might not be
something all entrepreneurs can handle, thus steps CA Sharad Kumar into the picture.

“We solve taxation queries everyday. When startups need to get registered, many skip
the form under section 56 and section 80 IAC offering them tax benefits,” stated Sharad.

Having moved to Delhi in 2007, Sharad is a chartered accountant specialising as a
forensic auditor and fraud examiner. As a founder of KSVG & Associates, he works
closely with over 150 startups to provide them with all legal services they may need.
Furthermore, the company counts creating pitch decks and financial models as part of its
services, it, additionally, often helps its clients acquire funding

A jack-of-all-trades

On the other hand, the teeming job insecurity on the rise has left people in a state of
financial instability. As a solution, Sharma and four other colleagues founded the startup
The House of Jobs to help match job aspirants with potential employers.

The company currently functions through the messaging app Telegram wherein
interested aspirants join the official House of Jobs group chat and respond to all job
postings they may be interested in. The House of Jobs team then screens all resumes
received and conducts a gruelling and intensive first round of interviews to screen
applicants. The company has connected over 1000 people to available job openings.

Completely bootstrapped till date, the Delhi-based startup looks forward to its seed
round of funding in the near future.

A balancing game

Being at the helm of two companies, CA Sharad Kumar Sharma organises his day in a
way that allows him to handle both roles with utmost precision. His dedication manages
to help him balance both leading a CA firm and a startup.

Commenting on his daily schedule, Sharad stated, “I reach the office at 9:00AM. From
9:00 to 2:00PM I work on things pertaining to my CA practice. After that, from 3:00PM to
about 7:00PM I work on things pertaining to the House of Jobs and other social work.”

“I allocate work to my [House of Jobs] team in the evening for the work day. We also use
some work management tools to organise and track the work done,” he added.

Furthermore, Sharad is engaged in the social work of a plethora of organisations
including, Chartered Accountant’s Association, Hindustan Scouts and Guides
Association, the NCLT Bar Association, and the Akhil Bhartiye Rashtriya Snatak Sangh.

It is infrequent, the ability to witness a person who specialises in so many fields and who works
‘round the clock to ensure that people are getting the support they need- be it in the day or the
middle of the night.
