The Beginning of the Beginning

Sachin Jain, a seasoned professional with years of experience in the education domain. Back in his office days, he started with writing blogs on higher education, covering a complete lifecycle of candidates from career counselling to getting a job. He has got huge traction on that. The aim was to easen up the journey of a student. Coming from a small city and building things on his own, Sachin understands struggles behind the scene. In 2010, along with his friends he started a business in Education media. In the span of 2 years, Sachin had visited 600+ colleges in UP and addressed more than lakh of candidates. However, the business got shut down after a while. “That time only the idea of EFOS came to my mind.” EFOS is an acronym of ‘Education Future One Stop’ where candidates can get right and verified opportunities. With this thought the journey of EFOS began.

After the startup was shut down, Sachin started working for his previous business EP Infoways, as idea of EFOS was too big to start and he want to have more exposure in this domain before starting this venture. EP Infoways started working on higher education marketing , recruitment services, student exposure ,  started presence in tier 2 and tier 3 cities, student counseling , mobalization of candidates for various progrmas.  Furthermore, in 2013 EP Infoways started working for Skill India programs ; By 2015 they had around 5000+ candidates to whom they were giving training and placing them to the job and Dr. Akansha Jain also joined at that time in this mission. In 2017, EP Infoways started skyrocketing. By then, they’ve trained around 25,000+ candidates and we’re working in 4 different states.   After getting exposure to various related fields for education and career such as Skill Development, Higher Education, Recruitment, Job Oriented training programs , Career Counseling , etc.  Sachin actually started working towards EFOS to make as a platform where a larger community can be benefited. 

In today’s fast-paced world, the majority of people are perplexed about their career, whether their interest area has a scope or not, at which institute they should apply for & where to find the verified job; tons of such questions haunt a student. Therefore, it becomes important to make them aware about the opportunities and give them the right direction for their future. Hence, EFOS is such a platform that claims to provide 360° service to the candidates; right from recommending them affiliated institutes depending upon their interest area to place them to a verified job, handhold them in their career journey by upskilling and also provide them better opportunity for jobs. “EFOS strives to create India’s foremost data driven platform with physical reach to the rural and remote locations, connecting youth to verified sources of education, certificate courses, skill development and placement opportunities and; access to support(s) from government and private sector stakeholders.” 

Founded in February 2017 , EFOS provides the ‘platform with services’ to the institutions, corporate, government and non government initiatives and their training-outreach partners in reaching out verified and shortlisted Indian youth of targeted socio-economic-geographic-education-skill-experience profile.  Through its hybrid network approach and physical outreach partner network, the startup assures to serve the ‘candidates with potential and capability’ from all across the country especially from rural,semi urban India by providing them access to verified opportunities for jobs, admissions to skill and vocational education, regular college education and certificate courses, entrepreneurship-self employment opportunities from industry and other assistances on offer under commercial and development stakeholder initiatives. “EFOS enables youth to plan and undertake informed, trust based choices for education, skill development and career planning and progression.”

Sachin told in conversation that For EFOS prime client is candidate and We are first platform where we ensure and highlight  issues like minimum wages , working hours exploitation, labour laws at workplace , delivering the quality education , affiliation and legal issues in education , international migration challenges for admission and jobs , effectiveness of  government/private schemes or scholarship in education and skill development. 

The Problem Statement

Speaking with Startup Story, Sachin shed light on how big institutes are making money and not delivering the commitments they make at the time of admission of the candidates. It has been seen how people have been made a fraud by making big promises or by influencing them whereas the supreme goal of EFOS  is to provide the access to verified information, counseling and hand holding on trust. “We at EFOS ensure that whatever we commit is delivered to our candidates. Our entire motto of the model is that the candidate shouldn’t be cheated and are provided with the best of the services.” Sachin further added to the discussion that presently the only platform candidates get the information from is google or facebook and the information pops up there is by those aggregators who pay the most to these social media giants and that obviously creates discrepancy. Another pertinent issue which was highlighted by him is that some of the fraud companies even charge for the jobs. 

EFOS have also started with its newsletters  which cover relevant candidates’ issues with various government agencies and private stake holders. Issues of  Fake Jobs , Fake Degree , Legal Education , Skill India Mission , Opportunity in Covid , Online Degree Career Options , Work Integrated Programs etc are already covered in previous issues. 

How EFOS Addressed The Problem

EFOS is offering ‘scale and structure’ for efficient career counseling, candidate mobilisation and manpower sourcing to industry, institutes, training partners under government and private sector initiatives for Education,Skill development and certification programs, Vocational and certificate courses, Scholarships, Entry level jobs and Internships in India and abroad. They use ‘technology platform’ for seamless communication and scalable operations along with ‘physical outreach partner network’ to address the current challenges of ensuring wider geographical outreach, demand aggregation, need based matchmaking, maintaining verified and multilayered pool of candidates(i.e. database) for candidate mobilisation and manpower sourcing clubbed with EFOS counselling and handholding to aspiring youth and potential candidates.

Sachin Jain, Founder & CEO, did his M tech from IIT Roorkee, He has more than 15 years of professional experience.

Ranjan Singh, Co-founder & Strategy Business Development. He possesses over 25 years of experience in cluster development, small-scale industries, startups nationally and internationally.  

Dr. Akansha Jain, Co-Founder, she’s PhD , PGDBA, M.Com Gold medalist. She possesses 14 years of professional experience in education and  skill development domain. 

Besides that, the startup has a team of 40+ people from different backgrounds to connect candidates, channel partners and clients with opportunities. 

Customer Experience, Future plans & Funding Status

Overall customer experience has been incredible  until now. Candidates are appreciating the EFOS working model as they are provided with verified opportunities. Furthermore, it’s time and cost effective. 

The company is looking forward to expanding their presence in every district of India. “Presently EFOS have more than 500 physical points at various part of India and it will be scaled to 5000+ points in this financial year. Our plan is to have 600+ offices in India” About funding , the startup is completely bootstrapped. EFOS is able to generate good revenue to sustain in the market.
