Crunching the Data and how – Bitscrunch

“Decision making is an art. You need to act smart and act quick when it comes to entrepreneurship,” Vijay Pravin,founder of Bitscrunch in a conversation with Startup Story.

Education and background

Vijay Pravin is from Tamil Nadu. He  did his graduation  in engineering, and then moved to Germany in 2020 and did his masters from there, and he became a Data Scientist, and has worked with big German Firms such as Volkswagen and Siemens since then.

About Bitscrunch

 Vijay founded Bitscrunch in 2020, during the Pandemic, and since then they have also expanded to Germany. After starting out, Bitscrunch took place in a couple of Hackathons and slowly started evolving by getting traction from big marketplaces.

Name Game

 The reason behind the name Vijay says, “We are heavily focussed on Data, and that is what we do, crunch numbers.”

Funding

 Bitscrunch has been bootstrapped since last year, but then they secured funding recently, around $750 K. They are at present backed by Venture capitals and organisations such as covalent.

Team
 Bitscrunch’s team is close to 20. Initially it was a team of 4, in 2020 who started out the organization together.

Problems faced

 “At the beginning, we wanted to set up an office in Bengaluru, but because of Pandemic we had to keep it all on hold, ” explains Vijay. Setting up an organization with minimum face to face interaction was quite challenging.

Future Plans

With the funding, Bitscrunch would expand to other block chains, which are not so popular. They already are dominant in the polygon chain. The team strength, the founder hopes, would also expand at least to 40 and a collaboration with Cryptomedia is also in the bag.

Standing out among competitors

 When it comes to branding, it is a long commitment process. Bitcrunch has partnered with a few advertising houses of Southeast Asia. Bitscrunch will have their own tokens by early next year. The plan is to make Bitscrunch a strong brand.

Word of inspiration

 “Try to be consistent. We were hit with a couple of things that we didn’t count, yet we held on due to consistency, ” says Vijay, founder Bitscrunch.
