Rebel Foods Expands into Saudi Arabia with Two Cloud Kitchens in Riyadh

Rebel Foods, the cloud kitchen startup behind popular brands like Faasos, Behrouz Biryani, and Oven Story Pizza, has made its entry into Saudi Arabia with the launch of two cloud kitchens in Riyadh. This move marks Rebel Foods as India’s first foodtech company to establish a presence in the Saudi Arabian market, further strengthening its focus on the Middle East region.

The foodtech startup has already established a footprint in the United Arab Emirates and now aims to build a robust $100-million food delivery business in Saudi Arabia over the next three years through its cloud kitchen network. Rebel Foods plans to expand its reach by adding over 60 internet restaurants in Riyadh and extending its operations to other major cities in the country, including Jeddah, Dammam, and Khobar.

Rebel Foods’ entry into the Saudi market is made possible through a partnership between Dubai-based KitchenPark and Kitch. The newly launched cloud kitchens, located in Sulemaniya and Qurtoba, will feature Rebel’s signature brands, including The Messy Burger, Oven Story Pizza, Fricken’ Fried Chicken, and The 500 Calorie Project. Subsequent launches will introduce popular brands such as Behrouz Biryani, Faasos, and Mandarin Oak.

Vishal Khithani, CEO of International Markets at Rebel Foods, emphasized the Middle East as a key region for the company’s growth strategy. “The Middle East or the MENA market is a key region for Rebel Foods, and we are investing significantly to build our cloud kitchen network and strengthen our brands,” stated Khithani. He further expressed the company’s commitment to meeting the growing customer demand by introducing iconic brands tailored to resonate with the market while addressing diverse food preferences.

Founded in 2011 by Jaydeep Barman and Kallol Banerjee, Rebel Foods operates a vast chain of online restaurants with 4,000 cloud kitchens encompassing 45 brands. With a presence in multiple countries, including India, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh, the UAE, and the UK, Rebel Foods has established a full-stack technology infrastructure encompassing inventory and kitchen management, demand management, and fulfillment. The company leverages its supply chain capabilities to source and store raw materials efficiently while emphasizing culinary expertise to deliver SOP-driven menus.

In April, Rebel Foods secured Rs 75 crore ($9.1 million) in debt funding through its fourth debt financing round, with investors such as Northern Arc and Stride Ventures contributing to its continued expansion and growth.
