Funding Alert Press Release

Piper Serica leads $1 Mn seed round in airport operations tech company Blunav

Airport operations technology company Blunav has raised $1 million in a seed funding round led by Piper Serica.

The proceeds will be deployed towards team expansion, continued product development, and scaling deployments across India and international markets, Blunav said in a press release.

Co founded by Suseendar Marimuthu and Cherukuru Sridharan, Blunav is an airport technology company building a full stack, cloud based Airport Operating System that integrates operational, passenger, and enterprise systems into a unified platform. The company enables airports, particularly small and mid sized hubs, to modernise operations, improve efficiency, and enhance passenger experience.

Blunav aims to address a persistent challenge across the aviation ecosystem. Smaller regional airports often rely on manual processes, while mid sized facilities operate through fragmented vendor systems. Large hubs, meanwhile, manage complex multi terminal environments where operational data exists in silos with limited interoperability between systems.

The Chennai based Blunav’s first deployment is at Chennai International Airport under the Airports Authority of India’s Startup India initiative. Following deployment, its Airside Management software enabled the airport to record a 22% reduction in runway occupancy time during a 20 day study covering more than 3,500 flights.

Blunav’s Airport Operating System is designed to unify multiple operational systems into a single connected platform, enabling real time access to operational data across teams, systems, and passenger touchpoints.

The startup competes with global airport technology firms such as SITA and Amadeus.
