Design-led fashion brand Theater has raised Rs 75 crore in its Series A funding round at a post-money valuation of Rs 410 crore. The round was led by Niveshaay, with participation from new investor Physis Capital and existing investor Prath Ventures.
Entrackr had exclusively reported the development a day ago.
The Mumbai-based startup had earlier raised $1.5 million in a pre-Series A round led by Prath Ventures in September 2024.
The fresh capital will be used to accelerate its offline expansion and establish a physical retail presence across Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities, Theater said in a press release.
Founded in 2021 by Sarthak Aggarwal, Vikram Jain, Karan Jain, and Shruti Aggarwal, Theater is a design-led, mass-premium western fashion brand offering footwear, stockings, perfumes, and bags. The company aims to build a design-led fashion brand combining distinctive design with accessible pricing.
Theater positions itself between imported luxury and mass-market basics. The company said it has scaled 8X over the past two years, driven by a growing customer base and a focus on profitability.
As part of its expansion plans, the startup will step up brand-building initiatives, including celebrity partnerships and marketing activations. It also plans to roll out new retail and marketing initiatives as it expands its offline presence.
Theater operates in a growing segment of India’s design-led fashion market, competing with brands such as Snitch, which raised Rs 278.9 crore in a Series B round; The Bear House, which secured Rs 50 crore in Series A funding; MyDesignation, which raised Rs 40 crore in Series A; Miraggio, which raised $6.5 million in Series A; and Alaya by Stage3, which raised a seed round to scale its ethnic-wear business and AI capabilities.
