Nazara’s Subsidiary NODWIN Gaming Buys a 35% Stake In Gaming Accessories Brand Wings

Leading gaming and sports company Nazara Technologies’ subsidiary NODWIN Gaming has acquired a 35% stake, valued at Rs. 10.01 Cr, in gaming accessories brand Wings, owned by Brandscale Technologies.

In a regulatory filing issued on April 19, the company said that NODWIN will acquire the equity stake in Brandscale Innovations by subscribing to 567 equity shares. The consideration would also be paid in cash.

Through this stake acquisition, NODWIN aims to scale up further and strengthen its retail presence and accelerate its direct-to-consumer approach for the gaming and esports audiences in India, the company said in a statement.

NODWIN also has plans to soon launch a custom series of gaming headphones themed around renowned Indian gaming and esports talents, influencers under NODWIN Gaming’s umbrella, and popular esports organisations in the country.

“We believe that NODWIN Gaming and Wings share multiple synergies, be it our influencers, our tournament IPs sponsorship, or our gamer community businesses. This investment will hopefully fill in the gap created by the huge demand for customized headphones and earbuds among the gaming and esports community,” said Akshat Rathee, co-founder and MD of NODWIN Gaming.

Wings was founded by Nishit Sharma in 2018. Its main gaming accessories include gaming earbuds and neckbands, with product expansion in the backburner for soundbars, speakers, headphones, keyboards, and mice. Wings sell products online via its website and with the help of eCommerce marketplaces such as Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, etc.
