Mittihub | Reviving the Dying Artform

“Failures and constant obstacles have taught me to stay patient and work and therefore success eventually comes in”- Abhinav Agarwal, Co-Founder of Mittihub in an exclusive and engaging interview of Startup Story Media

Abhinav Agarwal, a student of second year BBA Hons. in Entrepreneurship came up with the idea of Mittihub in his college days itself starting with terracotta products. With further research into this field they ended up finding that most of the products are mechanized goods and the one’s suffering due to this modernisation is the potters. The art of pottery and it’s usage started fading away with limited scopes. Seeing and getting to know all the insights Abhinav and the other co-founder Megha thought of to come up with a social impact startup.

“That was the time when I thought why not to come up with a idea of social work startup with the potters and also provide the customers with the handcrafted products”- Abhinav Agarwal

With this thought process and to create social impact on a wide scale, Mittihub started to get recognition where they got featured in Entrepreneurs of India and in many other reputed platforms.

Reviving the dying art form

We at Mittihub focus on regrowing our rich roots of Indian Culture into our modern environment”- Abhinav Agarwal

All the products are completely made using natural clay and made with love using traditional methods to maintain the authenticity and goodness along with a unique texture. By owning an art piece according to Abhinav one gets a chance to experience hundreds of years old art form passed on from generation to generation.

“With the vision to educate the urban customers about the health benefits of using clay products and help them experience hundreds of years old art form we have launched this initiative”- tells Abhinav to Startup Story Media

Furthermore through their products Abhinav and his enthusiastic team including mentors from all the reputed places are giving their potential customers the feel of rich authentic handcrafted products which are made of 100% natural soil.

Overcoming the Challenges

Challenges and obstacles are inevitable in any new venture. Similarly upon asking Abhinav about some of the challenges that he and his team faced in their journey, he said:

From the initiation of their research into this field the major challenges faced by them were finding the proper people to form the team and the issue of communicating with the potters during the lockdown. But with the things getting less tense post lockdown, they are traveling to various places to get in touch with the skilled potters.

“Recently we traveled to Alwar and collaborated with the potters there. We are also managing things among ourselves, learning new skills everyday.”- tells Abhinav

As Abhinav and his team are still students who are maintaining a balance between their studies and their startup, the common problem of finance is almost persistent all throughout.

“Managing college and the finance of the startup is one of the ongoing challenge for us but we are overcoming it slowly and gradually.”- Abhinav Agarwal

Customer satisfaction, Mittihub’s everyday motivation

With a great team and excellent mentors from all around India their service and products are getting overwhelming reviews and feedback which are motivating them to move forward with their idea. Along with this Abhinav mentioned that they are also making people aware about the benefits of using terracotta products through various mediums.

“People already knew about terracotta products but were reluctant to buy from a local merchant or a shop, as they were not sure about the quality. But in our service and venture we make sure that our customers are getting quality products and to maintain transparency we post our initiatives and processes on all our social media handles.”- Abhinav Agarwal
