Mantra Group Raises ₹125 Crore Funding from India SME Fund to Accelerate AI Innovation


Mantra Group, a prominent Indian deeptech firm specializing in identity verification, security, computer vision, and AI solutions, has raised ₹125 crore in its maiden institutional funding round. The funding was led by India SME Fund II, with participation from Motilal Oswal Principal Investments and other investors.

Co-founder Hiren Bhandari stated that this investment will drive Mantra’s next phase of innovation, allowing the company to expand its research and development efforts, enhance patent acquisitions, and bolster intellectual property creation. The company plans to establish a dedicated Center of Excellence focused on AI and computer vision technologies.

Mantra’s solutions are currently deployed by over 20 of India’s top 100 enterprises, primarily for workforce identity management and access control. The company aims to expand its footprint to additional airports across India and increase its presence in the West Asia region, offering advanced enterprise solutions.

Mitin Jain, Founder and Managing Director of India SME Fund, highlighted Mantra’s technological leadership and experience in national ID initiatives as key factors positioning the company for global expansion. He expressed confidence that the funding and collaborative support would accelerate Mantra’s growth trajectory.

This infusion of capital is set to amplify Mantra’s research capabilities and market reach, reinforcing its mission to deliver cutting-edge AI-driven identity and security technologies domestically and internationally.
