Magenta collaborates with Xavier Institutes to install electric vehicle charging stations on various campuses

Magenta has partnered with Xavier Institutes (a member of the Jesuit Educational Network) to deploy electric vehicle charging stations across their many campuses. The first EV charger was installed at Mumbai’s Xavier’s Institute of Engineering Campus in Mahim to kick off this effort. Dr HariBalaji N IPS, deputy commissioner of police, inaugurates the charging station. Mumbai is the first electric charging station in any educational institution. The EV charging station will be open seven days a week, 24 hours a day. The ChargeGrid software, which includes online remote monitoring and an automatic payment method, will regulate these charges.

The charging station will accommodate 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, and 4-wheelers with a combination of AC and DC chargers (30kW DC fast charger + 7.4kW AC). Magenta will install EV chargers across the Xavier network of educational institutes in India, which includes 83 university colleges, 7 significant business institutes management, 22 technical institutes, 11 research institutes, 92 high schools, and 15 Specialized Institutions.

Magenta plans to develop a nationwide network of 4800 charging stations to turn entire motorway segments into e-highways. This measure will boost the government’s plan to build 400,000 charging stations to meet the demand for two million electric vehicles (EVs) on the road by 2026.

Installing public EV charging stations alongside Parel, Dadar, and Byculla Railway Stations in conjunction with Central Railways is one of Magenta’s recent developments. Magenta just completed the installation of residential chargers for the Delhi government’s “Single Window Clearance Program.”

The ChargeGrid App will be used to control these chargers, which includes online remote monitoring and an automatic payment method.
