Zoho has joined ONDC – an initiative that assists sellers in setting up online stores

Zoho, a leading provider of software as a service (SaaS), has joined the government’s e-commerce platform Open Network for Digital Commerce as a technology service provider to assist customers in leveraging ONDC to reach a larger audience.

Zoho Commerce, the company’s e-commerce platform, will enable sellers and existing customers to quickly set up online stores and join the open e-commerce network, according to a media statement issued on October 26.

Anand Nergunam, Vice President, Zoho Corp, Revenue Growth, commented, “We believe that ONDC will create a level playing field for small businesses and other sellers who have been vastly under-represented in the sector’s growth in recent years.”

Zoho has joined ONDC

Users of Zoho Commerce in India will be able to sign up for ONDC with a single click and promote their products across multiple platforms with equal visibility. Furthermore, it will assist retailers in joining the network and seamlessly integrating their inventory with the buyer-side applications powered by ONDC. The company stated that it would improve its participation in ONDC by integrating more products from its own portfolios, such as Zoho Books and Zoho Inventory.

The news comes in the aftermath of the e-commerce platform Dukaan App announcing that it is integrating with ONDC to provide small and large businesses with a simplified and level playing field.

“We’re glad to be working in tandem with technology service providers like Zoho to accelerate and improve the end-to-end ecosystem experience and make digital commerce accessible to a wider audience of buyers and sellers across India,” ONDC chief executive officer T Koshy said. He added that ONDC would continue to lower entry barriers for sellers while increasing the variety and accessibility of goods and services for buyers through the network.
