Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh calls for linking StartUps with MSMEs

On August 26 Dr Jitendra Singh,  minister of state for science and technology, advocated for connecting startups with micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises(MSMEs)

Singh praised the government’s Startup India project, claiming that it had given young people access to “floodgates of opportunities.”

The country has seen a rise in Agritech businesses recently, according to Singh as well. These firms are now addressing issues with inadequate infrastructure, poor supply chain management, and farmers’ limited access to a larger choice of markets.

“Many are now quitting their jobs in the IT (information technology) sector and MNCs (multinational companies) to establish their own startups, as these young entrepreneurs are now beginning to realise that investing in agriculture is one of the very few safe and profitable businesses,” he added.

The three-day expo began on Thursday in New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan and will offer entrepreneurs and MSMEs a solitary platform to meet with business titans and display their goods.

More than 20,000 people have already visited it. It is anticipated that more than 300 exhibitors would take part, along with more than 30 banks and PSUs. 50 MNCs and more than 100 investors are anticipated to attend the event.

MoS Singh recently revealed 75 high-risk cooperation awards for business organisations and startups. Prior to this, he had also instructed government representatives and organisations to get in touch with promising entrepreneurs and offer support.
