Blockchain-powered TraceX tie-up with international non-profit TechnoServe to trace coffee produced in Araku Valley

In order to provide end-to-end digital traceability for the coffee grown by 3500 farmers in Araku Valley, Andhra Pradesh, TraceX Technologies, a blockchain-powered traceability platform that improves food and supply chain transparency, has partnered with the international non-profit TechnoServe. TechnoServe now offers its partner companies Blue Tokai and Humble beans the capability to track and record the journey of coffee through every stage of the production process, from bean to cup.
Through Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) scattered throughout 355 communities in the Araku Valley, TechnoServe presently works with 4000 farmers as part of the “Sustainable Livelihoods for Smallholder Farmers” programme, which is grant-funded by the Walmart Foundation. Because the majority of these farmers carefully adhere to organic farming, their production capacity is substantially lower than that of their Karnataka counterparts. TechnoServe has helped farmers over the years with agronomy training, visibility development, productivity growth, post-harvest management, and providing the required market connections. TechnoServe and TraceX have teamed up to assure consistency in the quality of coffee produced, thus enhancing the farmers’ ability to support themselves.
