To increase production, IG International collaborates with the agritech platform Fyllo

The importer of fresh fruit IG International collaborates with the SaaS-based precision agriculture firm Fyllo, which grows high-quality fruits using AI, ML, and IoT. In accordance with the agreement, Fyllo would assist IG International’s corporate farms across the nation in utilising cutting-edge technology called “Nero,” a device for analysing soil and controlling irrigation. This would force IG International to adopt a data-driven and real-time strategy as it attempts to grow the best crops, according to a statement.

The data-driven agri-science platform of Fyllo, it was claimed, generates real-time farm data and insights that aid farmers and growers in improving decisions and increasing productivity. The assertion claims that Nero technology promises a better yield, lower production costs, and immediate product quality improvements.

According to reports, Fyllo has decreased the use of pesticides and fertilisers by 30% and saved more than 10 billion gallons of water. Additionally, it stated that more than 85% of the farms managed by Fyllo produce crops of export quality and adhere to worldwide GAP standards.

The agreement, according to Tarun Arora, director of IG International’s Single Family Office, will provide Indian orchardists access to technology and potentially fundamentally alter the horticulture landscape in India. According to Arora, it would also promote entrepreneurship in general and enhance the development of Indian horticulture.

Sudhanshu Rai and Sumit Sheoran, the founders of Fyllo, were quoted as saying in a statement, “We are proud to join forces with a brand that has been around for 50 years in India.” Farmers will be able to adopt more eco-friendly practices and concentrate more on their customers’ thanks to this relationship.

It is also claimed that IG International’s organised and strategic sourcing system, which is supported by a seamless supply chain and a well-connected international procurement network, enables it to import the best fruits from 22 different countries.
