Funding Alert

Tech-enabled transit retail network Yatrikart raises $450 K in the seed round of funding

Shuru-Digital Up’s platform and Artha Venture Fund have contributed $450,000 to Yatrikart, a tech-enabled transit retail chain. The freshly obtained funds will be used to upgrade technology, extend the platform’s infrastructure, and recruit new people.

Shuru-Up is a digital ecosystem that streamlines startup fundraising and provides primary and secondary investment opportunities to investors. The company also mentioned that it is extremely rare to discover a business that addresses an issue that affects everyone. It was a no-brainer to join the Yatrikart team on their quest to tackle the challenge of transit retail after meeting them.

Shivangee Sharma, co-founder of Yatrikart following the pandemic, the shifting landscape of passengers’ demands has prompted us to concentrate on the genuine issue of bridging the demand and supply gap at transit stations. She also said that developed our vision to empower India’s last mile entrepreneurs at transit stations and in trains while developing a trustworthy brand for Indian passengers while tackling this challenge.

Yatrikart now operates over 25 storefronts and carts around the country, servicing millions of clients each year at train stations, bus stations, and taxi stops. Customers’ travel demands are met by tailoring the stores and formats. By 2023, the company wants to launch more than 100 additional layouts.

Anirudh A Damani, managing partner of Artha Venture Fund said that tYathe retail on-the-go market has a lot of room for expansion. Yatrikart, on the other hand, has brought a method to the chaos by standardising the formerly fragmented operations of stand-alone merchants and hawkers at transportation hubs such as metros, trains, motorways, bus and taxi terminals. He also stated that the firm is enthusiastic about Yatrikart since it’s the second investment from Artha Venture Fund’s access programme, which focuses on pre-Seed finance.

Yatrikart, a tech-enabled transit retail chain founded by Gaurav Rana and Shivangee Sharma, enables micro-entrepreneurship by empowering hawkers and merchants at transit stations and introducing a new retail model, retailing on the move. Small companies are empowered by the startup, which assists them in operating and growing their company.
