TCS tops LinkedIn’s list of best workplaces in India for 2023, followed by Amazon and Morgan Stanley

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has been ranked as the best place to work in India for 2023, according to LinkedIn’s list of the top 25 workplaces. The list was compiled using eight criteria related to career progression, including company stability, ability to advance, skills growth, external opportunity, company affinity, gender diversity, educational background, and employee presence in the country. Amazon and Morgan Stanley took second and third place respectively.

The report shows a shift from last year’s list, which was dominated by tech companies, to a more diverse range of industries such as financial services, oil & gas, professional services, manufacturing, and gaming. This year, ten of the top 25 companies are from the financial services, banking, and fintech sectors. Among them are Macquarie Group (5), HDFC Bank (11), Mastercard (12), and Yubi (14).

LinkedIn highlighted the strong momentum in India’s business ecosystem, with 17 new companies making the list this year. The top companies are investing in key job functions such as engineering, consulting, product management, business development, sales, design, finance, and operations.

The leading location for these top companies is Bengaluru, followed by Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, and Pune. Nirajita Banerjee, LinkedIn Career Expert and India Managing Editor, said that the 2023 Top Companies list provides professionals with insights and resources to help them discover job opportunities, identify the skills and roles being hired for, connect with employees in their network, and stay informed about future opportunities.
