Funding Alert

Bengaluru-based education startup SoME closes its third round of angel funding

The School of Meaningful Experiences (SoME), a Bengaluru-based tech-enabled communication startup, today announced the completion of its third round of angel funding. Through its communication programs, it assists people of all ages, including young adults, working professionals, and entrepreneurs, in developing soft/human skills.

Existing investors Uday Singh, former Executive Chairman and Managing Director of SIS India, and Mohan Alexander, an angel investor, and finance veteran, led the round. With this, the venture has strategically raised $500,000 through angel funding.

The resources will be used to strengthen outreach programs, expand the team, and introduce innovative communication programs for working professionals, managers, CXOs, and entrepreneurs.

Rakesh Godhwani, Founder & CEO, of SoME, said, “It’s heartening to see that our investors continue to show faith in SoME’s holistic approach to education. We have never focussed on short-term returns, even during the pandemic-induced online learning surge, and have always adopted the big-picture perspective. At SoME, we don’t just teach communication, but also life skills that aid our learners’ personal, and professional lives. Our plan now is to foray beyond the metros and tap into the tier 2 and tier 3 markets across India to create future leaders who can communicate and collaborate with confidence.”

School of Meaningful Experiences (SoME)

SoME’s specialized courses are founded on the company’s distinctive ‘Six Cs’ concept, which equips students with important life skills such as communication, confidence, collaboration, curiosity, competence, and creativity. The startup develops and delivers transformational communication programs that are required to solve workplace issues in the post-pandemic professional environment of the twenty-first century.

SoME has graduated 2,500 students thus far. Partnerships with corporations, colleges, and famous educational institutions, such as the Ahmedabad University School of Management, have enabled SoME to reach out to learners of all ages from all over the world. SoME, envisioned as a “Future Continuous Learning Platform,” offers a comprehensive approach to education and communication. At SoME, there are no ‘teachers’ or ‘faculty;’ instead, there are ‘Guides,’ who urge students to be courageous in their quest for knowledge.
