Shilpa Shetty backed Agro Startup Kisankonnect raises Rs. 31 Cr. in its pre-series A round led by Green Frontier Capital and Dhanuka

Kisankonnect, a fully integrated fresh produce Agro start-up, has successfully secured Rs. 31 Cr in its pre-series A funding round. The round was spearheaded by Green Frontier Capital (GFC), a distinguished Climate tech-focused fund, with substantial participation from Dhanuka Agritech Limited, a leading Crop Protection company in India, as well as VC Grid and other family offices.
Vivek Nirmal, Founder and CEO of Kisankonnect, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are pleased to partner with GFC and Dhanuka and other ESG Tech focused investors in our journey of strengthening our community of farmers by implementing interventions for soil improvement, reduced usage of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, and improving farm productivity.”
He emphasized the positive impact of their work on both farmers and consumers, highlighting the company’s commitment to a safer produce and a unique tech-enabled, temperature-controlled, and fully traceable supply chain. This, he explained, enables the swift delivery of sorted and graded fresh produce to consumers in Mumbai and Pune, significantly reducing wastages and ensuring fair prices for both farmers and consumers.
Nidhi Nirmal, Co-founder and Business Head, shared insights into their evolving customer service, stating, “Earlier we reached our consumers through our Mobile App. Now, our farm stores service our customers with even fresher produce.” The funds raised in this round are earmarked to expand climate-smart agriculture interventions with their 5,000 farmers, enhance fresh-produce supply chain technology, and establish new farm stores alongside the existing ones in Mumbai and Pune.
