Realty startup PropReturns raises funding from CRED’s Kunal Shah, others


A large group of angel investors invested in the real estate investment platform PropReturns including Kunal Shah (Founder, CRED), Gokul Rajaram (Board Member, CoinBase and Pinterest), Varun Alagh (Co-founder, Mamaearth), Sandeep Agarwal (Co-founder, ShopClues and Droom), Nitin Jain (Co-founder, O’AgriFarm), Karan Virwani (CEO, WeWork India), and 1947 Rise.

The company announced that it would expand its technology team, add more asset classes, broaden its investor base, partner with more channel partners and real estate brokers, developers, and property owners, and increase its investor base. Beyond Mumbai and Delhi-NCR, it is considering geographical expansion into Pune, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. The platform says it currently lists more than 600 investment options.

The co-founder of the company, Jayant Panwar said, “PropReturns has transacted business worth more than Rs 100 crore through the platform in just one year of operation. Our objective is to create the largest real estate investment ecosystem in India, and this funding will be used to scale the business by increasing the volume of transactions and growing the team.”

About Propreturns :

To help investors earn rental incomes or gains from capital appreciation, Kenish Shah, Jayant Panwar, and Somil Mathur, the BITS Pilani graduates founded PropReturns in 2020. It lists rent-generating commercial properties, lots, distressed opportunities, REITS, and real estate debt. It uses proprietary databases and artificial intelligence (AI)-based algorithms to provide market trends and financial analysis for investors to make data-backed decisions in addition to facilitating the process.
