PureHealth acquires UK-based Circle Health Group for $1.2B


PureHealth, a UAE-based healthcare network, has finalized an agreement to acquire Circle Health Group, a UK-based independent hospital operator, for a substantial $1.2 billion. This strategic move is part of PureHealth’s worldwide expansion strategy, which encompasses not only entering the UK market but also plans for acquisitions in the United States and other international markets. The acquisition’s primary objective is to enhance healthcare options, broaden the medical professional network, and facilitate knowledge exchange, ultimately benefiting patients in both the UAE and the UK.

Under the terms of the deal, PureHealth will gain complete ownership of Circle Health Group’s diverse portfolio, spanning fields such as orthopaedics, oncology, cardiothoracic surgery, ophthalmology, neurosurgery, and general surgery. This acquisition encompasses the entirety of Circle Health Group’s hospital assets, including the first-ever rehabilitation hospital established in the UK.

Hammad Al Ameri, CEO and Managing Director of Alpha Dhabi Holding PJSC, which is listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, expressed confidence in the acquisition’s potential for future growth and success. He stated, “This acquisition is a major milestone for our associate company, PureHealth Holding LLC, and we are confident that it will position us for continued growth and success.”

The formalization of the acquisition was marked by a signing ceremony held in London. Notable attendees included Farhan Malik, Managing Director and Group CEO of PureHealth; Brent Layton, Senior Advisor to Centene Corporation; and Beau Garverick, Senior Vice President of Corporate Development. Circle Health Group, renowned for being the first European healthcare provider to enter the Chinese market, specializes in groundbreaking neurological and musculoskeletal rehabilitation services. The company operates across more than 60 specialties, encompassing 50 hospitals and 150 theatres, with an employee and consultant base exceeding 8,200 individuals.

This strategic acquisition catapults Circle Health Group, an entity generating over $13 billion in revenue and facilitating more than two million visits annually, into PureHealth’s growing portfolio of esteemed healthcare providers. The synergy of expertise between these organizations aims to reshape patient care on a global scale, advancing scientific innovation and elevating the quality of life for individuals around the world.
