Pune-based Ronin Wines Raises $675k in Pre-Series A Funding Round

Ronin Wines Private Limited, the Pune-based company behind Moonshine Meads, has successfully secured $675,000 in funding from Rainmatter Capital and Grip Invest as part of its larger pre-Series A funding round. The investment also includes participation from Auxano Capital, Supermorpheus, Anthill Capital, and a group of existing and new angel investors.

The raised capital will be utilized to deepen the brand’s presence in existing markets and expand its honey and beekeeping-focused brand, Moonshine Honey Project (MHP). Founded in 2021, MHP has been dedicated to selling honey through both business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) channels. In addition, the company recently launched an innovative initiative called “Bee Hotels” in May 2023, as part of its commitment to bee conservation. These artificial habitats are designed to support solitary bees, whose natural habitats have been threatened by urbanization and deforestation.

Nitin Vishwas, Co-founder of Ronin Wines, expressed his excitement about the recent investment, stating, “We are very excited to have the two investors join us as we build Moonshine. Rainmatter’s commitment to tackling climate change and supporting sustainability aligns well with our mission to support the dwindling bee population in the country. With Grip Invest joining our team, we now have access to numerous alternate financing solutions that we will need as we scale our alcobev business.”

The partnership with Rainmatter Capital and Grip Invest not only brings financial support but also provides Ronin Wines with expertise and resources to advance its sustainability goals and expand its market presence. Rainmatter Capital’s focus on climate change and sustainability aligns with Ronin Wines’ mission to address the decline of the bee population in India.

As the company continues to scale its alcobev (alcoholic beverage) business, the addition of Grip Invest to the team will provide access to various alternative financing solutions to support its growth plans.
