Open-source data infrastructure platform Dozer secures $3M in seed funding led by Sequoia Capital India and Surge

Dozer, an open-source data infrastructure platform, has raised $3 million in a seed round of funding led by Sequoia Capital India and Southeast Asia’s surge. Gradient Ventures and January Capital also participated in the funding round. The company intends to use the funds to expand its engineering team and scale its product, according to a press statement by Dozer.

Co-founded by Matteo Pelati and Vivek Gudapuri, Dozer is an open-source data infrastructure platform that enables engineers to create APIs from multiple data sources in a seamless manner without affecting performance. The platform connects with several databases, including Postgres and MySQL, data warehouses like Snowflake, and the Ethereum ledger. It provides engineers with the ability to develop scalable, real-time data applications at high speeds.

It is open source and was created using the low-level programming language Rust, which is renowned for its quick performance and memory safety. Rust can also be expanded to support additional data sources or transformations. The platform wants to make investments in real-time, data-driven products that provide users with a 10x better experience.

Surge, which debuted in 2019, assists the startups taking part in the programme in raising capital. For startups in their early stages, the company provides pre-seed and seed funding of up to $1–$3 million. The surge community now has over 300 founders and 130 startups across 16 industries with the addition of the eighth cohort.
