Oneistox, a promising upskilling startup, has successfully secured a significant seed funding round of $1.2 million. Renowned investors such as Y Combinator, Powerhouse Ventures, and Soma Capital, along with notable industry experts like Amit Ranjan, co-founder of SlideShare, and Deepak Menon, VP at Microsoft, participated in the funding. With a vision to revolutionize the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry, Oneistox aims to empower employees with essential skills through its innovative approach.
Oneistox, founded in 2019 by Harkunwar Singh, Vipanchi Handa, Mehul Kumar, and Chaithanya Murali, is a startup that offers tailored courses and upskilling programs for AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) professionals, aimed at helping them develop industry-relevant digital skills and stay ahead in the fast-evolving technological landscape. Despite making up 12% of the world’s GDP, the AEC industry is considered one of the least digitized industries. Oneistox aims to disrupt the AEC industry by providing cutting-edge upskilling courses that bridge the gap between traditional education and the changing technological requirements, empowering learners to become future-ready professionals. Harkunwar Singh, co-founder of Oneistox, believes that the AEC industry is ripe for disruption, and their startup is leading the charge with innovative upskilling programs.
Oneistox has previously secured a total of $125K in funding from Powerhouse Ventures and Y Combinator in 2021. Despite the current challenging market conditions for the Indian edtech industry, upskilling platforms catering to businesses are garnering significant attention from investors. In fact, funding in upskilling startups witnessed a remarkable year-on-year increase of 62%, with a total of $165 Mn raised in 2022 compared to $61.3 Mn in 2021. Notable examples include upGrad, which recently raised INR 300 Cr through a rights issue following its previous funding of $210 Mn (around INR 1,728 Cr) just seven months ago. Additionally, Cusmat secured $3.5 Mn in Series A funding, while Masai School raised $4.77 Mn in October 2022. Other startups such as Coursera, Udemy, EdX, SkillShare, and more, also offer skill development services and courses in India.
