Krutrim, the AI venture launched by Ola, has announced the acquisition of BharatSah’AI’yak, an India-centric AI platform developed by Samagra, a consulting organisation renowned for building public-facing technology solutions across education, agriculture, and governance.
This strategic acquisition aims to deepen Krutrim’s AI footprint in civic-tech and government ecosystems by integrating BharatSah’AI’yak’s advanced vernacular Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) models into Krutrim’s core infrastructure — including its large language models (LLMs), the newly launched Kruti AI assistant app, and Krutrim Cloud.
As part of the acquisition, Krutrim has also absorbed the core AI team from Samagra, strengthening its technical capabilities in local-language AI applications for public use cases.
“Integrating BharatSah’AI’yak into the Krutrim ecosystem widens its offerings, lending cutting-edge AI-centric assistance and support to a range of government initiatives, programs, and schemes,” said a Krutrim spokesperson. “We’re proud to onboard some of the country’s brightest minds to help build AI tools that reflect India’s linguistic diversity and cultural depth.”
BharatSah’AI’yak has played a key role in building real-world applications for government deployments. Notably, it powered KumbhSah’AI’yak, a multilingual chatbot launched for pilgrims attending Maha Kumbh 2025, providing 24×7 assistance on rituals, accommodation, navigation, and events. The platform also enabled AMA Krushi, a voice-first AI assistant for farmers in Odisha, offering personalized guidance on agricultural practices and government schemes in local languages.
The acquisition aligns with Krutrim’s mission to democratize AI access across sectors. By integrating BharatSah’AI’yak’s proven vernacular capabilities into Kruti, its agentic AI assistant, and cloud-based offerings, Krutrim is aiming to bring conversational intelligence to Indian public services, citizen engagement platforms, and enterprise applications.
Krutrim recently launched Kruti, an all-in-one AI assistant designed to perform tasks like cab booking, bill payments, food ordering, content creation, and research assistance. The integration of BharatSah’AI’yak’s technology into Kruti is expected to boost its multilingual, task-based intelligence in a wide range of real-world settings.
