Ola Teams Up with ONDC for Food Delivery Service

Indian mobility giant Ola has partnered with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) to offer food delivery services, marking its fourth attempt in the food delivery space. Ola has been testing this feature within its ride-hailing app, with some users already experiencing it.

While the service is currently available to a limited number of users, it’s expected to compete with established players like Swiggy and others. Ola previously made attempts in the food delivery sector, with its last effort in 2022 focused on integrating its cloud kitchen business with 10-minute grocery delivery.

This time, Ola’s collaboration with ONDC, a government-backed initiative, aims to provide a seamless food delivery experience without launching a separate app. ONDC is working on integrating various transportation modes, including ride-hailing, to enhance customer convenience.

The move aligns with Ola’s broader strategy to expand its service offerings and compete in India’s rapidly growing online food delivery market.
