Ola Electric to roll out MoveOS 3 in phases

Ola Electrics, a subsidiary of Ola Cabs, announced on Thursday that it will begin rolling out a long-awaited software update for its e-scooters called MoveOS 3 today.

On Thursday, the company listed some mind-blowing features of the new operating system, such as

  • Compatibility with the hypercharge network to help users cover 50 miles with a minimum of 15 minutes of hypercharge.
  •   Hill hold to keep the scooter from sliding backwards on an incline.
  •  Vacation and Party modes for all of their partyholics, allowing them to go on vacation without attending their scooter for days and return to the same unhinged scooters, whereas in party mode, several scooters can begin a synchronized scooter light show for any song that is played.

Other updates includes,

  • Safety lights to indicate bad weather or if something is wrong with the scooter.
  •  Proximity lock/unlock even when the user’s phone is in their pocket.
  • Wifi connectivity
  • Bluetooth calling
  • Creating profiles
  • Upload identification documents such as an Aadhar Card and a driver’s license that can be viewed on the HMI (Human-Machine Interface) screen.

“Apart from the addition of the above features, MoveOS 3 will also be bringing in several performance improvements to Ola’s S1 family of scooters, such as better acceleration in Hyper and Sport modes, increased top speed in Eco Mode, better visibility and increased accuracy when it comes to the vital scooter stats.” Ola Electric said.

While some users have already begun receiving software update notifications, the company has stated that the roll out will be phased.
