Oben Electric Closes INR 100 Crore Series A Round to Accelerate Growth and Launch Affordable EV Platform

Oben Electric, a Bengaluru-based electric motorcycle manufacturer, has successfully closed its extended Series A funding round with an additional ₹50 crore raised in May 2025. This follows an earlier ₹50 crore raise in January 2025, bringing the total Series A funding to ₹100 crore and the company’s overall capital raised to ₹200 crore to date.

The latest round saw continued participation from existing investors and new backers including Helios Holdings, the Sharda Family Office, and the Kay Family. The company stated that the funding reflects increasing investor confidence in Oben Electric’s product strength, market traction, and financial performance.

Since its initial Series A raise, Oben Electric has rapidly expanded its operations by launching 37 retail outlets across 26 cities in 13 states, including Punjab, Gujarat, Telangana, and Odisha. The fresh capital will now fuel the company’s next phase of growth—aiming to expand to over 150 showrooms across 50+ cities by FY26, scale production at its Bengaluru facility, bolster after-sales service, and accelerate development of its new ‘O100’ electric motorcycle platform—an affordable product targeted under ₹1 lakh.

“This extended round is a strong vote of confidence in our long-term vision,” said Madhumita Agrawal, Founder & CEO of Oben Electric. “We’re not only expanding our presence but also pushing innovation forward with the O100 platform, aimed at making electric mobility accessible to the masses. Our vertical integration gives us the control and agility needed to scale efficiently.”

Sandesh, from the Sharda Family Office, added:

“Oben has demonstrated strong product-market fit and rapid revenue growth in a largely untapped market. Their vertical integration of key EV components—battery, motor, and vehicle control units—along with a capable founding team, positions them well to build a global electric motorcycle brand from India.”

Oben Electric’s current product lineup includes the flagship Rorr and its entry-level variant, Rorr EZ, which has gained traction among urban commuters. Priced starting at ₹99,999, the Rorr EZ delivers acceleration from 0–40 km/h in 3.3 seconds, a top speed of 95 km/h, and a range of up to 175 km (IDC) powered by robust LFP battery packs known for safety, durability, and weather resistance.

Looking ahead, Oben Electric plans to raise $30 million in a Series B round later in 2025 to support international expansion and further scale its operations, with the long-term goal of becoming a global electric motorcycle brand designed in India for the world.
