Ninjacart expands globally with agricultural import-export business

Walmart and Tiger Global backed Ninjacart, an agro export-import commerce platform, enabling exporters and importers to develop networks with trustworthy firms, get access to new markets, and expand worldwide.

Ninjacart, India’s top agro-startup that uses technology and data to organize the Indian agricultural ecosystem, has extended its worldwide presence with the introduction of the ‘Ninja Global’ platform for agri export-import enterprises in the UAE and GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) nations.

Ninja Global is an agro export-import (EXIM) commerce platform that enables exporters and importers to develop networks with reputable firms, get access to new markets, and effectively grow their operations on a global scale. It evaluates and authenticates marketplace firms, offers payment and quality assurance services, and issues trust badges to establish legitimacy. It also offers an online bidding tool that allows businesses to locate the most cost-effective logistics services for transporting their goods.

The firm will assist businesses in establishing a digital identity by registering their enterprises on the platform and exhibiting their items to prospective clients and suppliers.

Highlighting the new offering, Kartheeswaran K K, COO & Co-Founder, Ninjacart said, “The size of cross-border trade for agricultural commodities alone is around $2.5 trillion, and we expect it to grow by at least 20 per cent. Ninja Global will empower the dynamic market through a variety of services. Our goal in launching Ninja Global in UAE and GCC is to strengthen the export-import market for agri commodities between GCC and India, empower agri-importers and exporters in GCC countries as well as India, and advance our vision of organising the agri ecosystem.”

Ninja Secure Trade (NST) is part of Ninja Global’s full set of services and features. It offers payment and quality assurance services that give traders the most confidence. Based on what sellers and buyers say about a business, the Credibility Journey feature gives it different trust badges. Also, the Microsite for Businesses service gives businesses a virtual storefront with product catalogues and prices, and the Freight Forwarding Online Bidding feature makes it possible for suppliers to get logistics services that are easy and cost-effective.

After Accel led a $2.6 million funding round for Produze, which was started by Ninjacart’s founding team, the company decided to get into the business of exporting agriculture.

On September 6, the company announced that it was putting together an advisory board made up of industry veterans and experts who would help it with agriculture, supply chain design, public policy, finance, and technology. In December 2021, Walmart and an Indian online store called Flipkart put $145 million into Ninjacart.
