NASSCOM Appoints Rajesh Nambiar as Chairperson


NASSCOM (National Association of Software and Service Companies) has announced its new Chairperson, Rajesh Nambiar, who also serves as the Chairman and Managing Director of Cognizant India. Nambiar assumes this position, succeeding Anant Maheshwari, the Former President of Microsoft India, who previously held the role of Vice Chairperson. Nambiar, along with President Debjani Ghosh, will work together to strengthen India’s standing as a global technology hub, navigating the current volatile macro environment.

The leadership’s core priorities will revolve around accelerating the adoption and impact of emerging and deep technologies, enhancing India’s talent capabilities to align with evolving job roles and technology acceleration, focusing on integrated industry solutions for scale efficiencies, sustainability, and rapid innovation, and promoting a diverse, inclusive, and equitable work environment.

On the appointment, Nambiar said, “The technology-led transformation in this decade offers a lifetime chance to rethink, reengineer, and reimagine technology for global impact. As enterprises accelerate their journey towards digitalization, they will evolve into adaptive entities capable of absorbing volatility and building sustainable growth models with diversity and inclusion as a cornerstone.”

In another tech development, Indian Bank has partnered with IBM to modernize its technology infrastructure. Under Project PARADISE, Indian Bank aimed to consolidate its Front Branch Servers for better manageability and availability while running Core Banking Solution (CBS) workloads on the latest IBM Power servers. IBM proposed a hybrid cloud approach for AIX workloads, providing infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) to boost agility and introduce capex and opex models for compute resource consumption.

Additionally, Gati Limited, a logistics company, has collaborated with Tech Mahindra to develop Gati Enterprise Management System (GEMS) 2.0, an operational software system covering first-mile, mid-mile, and last-mile operations. This partnership aims to replace Gati’s legacy application with a scalable, cloud-based application for operational excellence and improved customer experience.

CtrlS Datacenters has appointed Vipin Jain, a former AWS executive, as president of operations. Jain will focus on establishing a global operational framework and achieving operational benchmarks for the company’s data center facilities in India and emerging markets.

Finally, cybersecurity company Netskope has introduced Proactive Digital Experience Management (DEM) for Secure Access Service Edge (SASE). This cloud-based security framework aims to provide proactive user experience management across the entire SASE architecture, including Netskope Intelligent SSE, Netskope Borderless SD-WAN, and Netskope NewEdge global infrastructure, addressing the need for consistent and optimized digital experiences in the era of hybrid work and cloud infrastructure.
