Meesho Aims to Enable Digital Transformation for 10 Million Sellers by 2027

This visionary goal signifies a remarkable tenfold expansion from Meesho’s present base of 1.3 million sellers, opening fresh avenues for enterprises with an annual turnover below 40 lakhs to tap into the digital commerce arena. This endeavor also aligns with the Indian Government’s decision to relax mandatory GST requirements for online sales by businesses with annual turnovers under 40 lakhs.

India houses an estimated 85 million MSMEs, yet only around 1.5 million currently operate online. This stark disparity highlights the substantial untapped potential within this domain, capable of empowering even the smallest sellers from every corner of the country to participate in the e-commerce revolution and uplift their businesses. Recognizing that many new seller registrations face challenges during GST registration, Meesho aims to leverage the anticipated easing of GST regulations to provide micro and small enterprises with the opportunity to embark on their maiden online journey. This strategic shift is set to usher in a new wave of entrepreneurs, spanning from homemakers to boutique owners and local stores.
